Paul was only in Iowa for about a week pulling support because of his Congressional duties. He also probably spent the least amount of money on the straw poll. Tickets to the event cost money and the candidates basically buy votes by giving away tickets to their supporters. I would think that Paul's national support is probably better than in Iowa, and that in the straw poll is a lot different than a general election vote. Think about it.
